Clicking Storage Triggers UAC Prompt Is This a New Windows 11 Feature?
Clicking on Storage in Settings now prompts a UAC authorization window, which didn't happen before. Is this a normal update behavior or a problem?

This is new feature implemented since KB5074105 released in Jan 2026:

This is a standard security feature in Windows 11 designed to prevent unauthorised access to storage; if you wish to disable it, you can do so via the Group Policy Editor or the Registry Editor to suppress the relevant UAC prompts.

Not usually. Normally, accessing Storage settings shouldn't prompt a UAC window unless administrative permissions are required for specific actions or configurations.

Windows updates sometimes tighten security, especially around system settings and control panels. Prompting for UAC authorization when accessing certain settings like Storage could be part of these security enhancements.
