Changing the default windows size of certain system apps

Group Policy Editor is the main one.
It always starts too small so you have to drag it out and then expand the left pane so so you can read the contents.

Unlike most apps, it doesn't hold size settings for next time.
Any way of fixing this? The windows size defaults must be defined somewhere...

  • For many apps, the simplest way to get them to open at your preferred size is to manually resize the window:

    • Open the app you want to resize.
    • Resize the window by clicking and dragging the edges or corners to achieve the desired size.
    • Close the app using the “X” button in the top-right corner while the window is still in the desired size.

In many cases, Windows will remember the size of the last closed window and open it at that size the next time you launch the app.
