Changing monitor input causes windows to maximize over taskbar.
Another post on the same forum suggests that holding down the Windows logo on the keyboard and typing P (for “Projector”) until the Computer-only option is selected can fix this issue 2.
I hope this helps!

- kleary93Jul 12, 2024Copper ContributorThanks Harold, your first suggestion is a work around I already mentioned in my post :). Still having this issue. Wish microsoft could figure out what is going on and fix it.

Disappointed to report I never had this problem until recently. In the 6 or 7 months I've been using Windows 11, I never experienced this. Just within the last week or so, this behavior has started. I use two monitors, and I change the input on my main monitor to play my Nintendo Switch sometimes, and after changing back to my PC this problem occurs. All windows, no matter what, will insist on covering the taskbar.
I'd like to add a workaround: if your display is HDR capable, you can simple toggle HDR and it'll fix the problem. This is less troublesome than changing the resolution. In my experience, Windows doesn't like to remember window positions, etc. when changing resolutions, so this will work around that if that's a problem someone experiences with changing resolutions.
