Can't update the build 17017.1000 (rs_prerelease)

I am getting the same exact error.
so, after digging a bit, i found some errors in the log in SoftwareDistrobution:

I will try again later and see what happens.
Same---tried all the usual tricks of running troubleshooter, stopping and retstarting service etc.
Ran update troubleshooter after cold boot. Seems to be installing now at 23%
Everything went well either because the servers cleared or because of my running the troubleshooter and restarting.
