Can't go from Windows 11 dev channel to release version
FeelLikePhil I might have just found an answer, but I guess I got very lucky. Thankfully, right before activating the dev channel my Windows 11 installed its usual stable update. Later I made the mistake of activating the dev channel. Desperate for a solution I was exploring different methods and was able to go back to that earlier version of stable Windows by using the recovery methods, the "Go Back" option to be precise. Like that I managed to go back to the previous stable version of Windows 11 right before I installed the usual stable update and the dev build, and when I went to Windows Update it said that the dev version installation had failed. Just to make sure, I downloaded the Windows 11 ISO from the Microsoft website and was able to reinstall Windows 11 stable version while keeping all of my files & apps. Then when I went to Windows Update the dev build was still there waiting to be installed, so what I did next was leaving the programme from the website and entering again. To my pleasant surprise now I had all three channels available to choose from, I selected the prerelease channel and was able to immediately activate "Stop getting preview builds". I hope this helps someone out there, good luck!
