Cannot change Time Zone nor time in Date & Time
I have tried everything I have found on the internet. Nothing has worked till now. I cannot change the time nor time zones on my PC. Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time > Turning off Set Time Zone Automatically does not give me the option to change time zone manually. When I go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time > Additional Clocks > Date & Time > Change Time Zone, a pop up saying "You do not have permission to perform this task. Please contact your administrator." comes up even though I am on the administrator user.

Hi Windower,
Here are some potential solutions that might help:
Run a System File Checker: Corrupted system files could be the culprit, preventing you from changing the time zoneĀ¹. Verify the integrity of Windows system files by running a System File Checker. Here's how:
# Open Command Prompt with administrator access # Run each command below and wait for the scan to complete. SFC /scannow DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
After running these commands, restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
Create a New User Profile:
If the problem persists, try creating a new user profile on your Windows computer. User profile-related issues can sometimes cause such problems.Change Time Zone in Safe Mode:
Attempt to change the time zone in Safe Mode.Check Internet Time Settings:
In the Date and Time menu, go to the Internet Time tab. If possible, adjust settings to synchronize with an Internet time server.

I am having the same issue. I wanted to confirm that the solution you offered worked. Can something indicate whether it was successful? LeonPavesic
- Bec_GwCopper ContributorI had the same issue, couldn't update my timezone which was set incorrectly, so my clock was out.
I found this video linked elsewhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEE6MMY7nXc
It's for windows 10 and I'm on windows 11 but the very first step worked for me and fixed the problem in no time. Hope it helps.
