If you are a Spotify Premium subscriber, you can indeed download music from Spotify to Apple Watch, so that you can throw away your phone and listen to music directly on your watch when running or exercising. However, this feature has some prerequisites and limitations. Let's talk about how to do it in detail below.
Steps to download songs from Spotify to Apple Watch
- Make sure your Apple Watch is running watchOS 7 and above, and the Spotify App has been updated to the latest version.
- Open Spotify on your iPhone and find the playlist or podcast you want to download (Note: individual songs cannot be downloaded, they must be playlists or podcasts).
- Click "…" (More Options) → Select "Download to Apple Watch", and Spotify will start downloading.
- Put your Apple Watch on the charger and make sure it is connected to Wi-Fi for faster downloads.
- After the download is complete, you can find the downloaded playlist in the Spotify App on the watch → Your Library → Downloads.
- Put on your Bluetooth headphones, open the Spotify App, select the downloaded content, and you can play it offline!
Notes:
- Download restrictions: Spotify currently does not support downloading single songs, only playlists or podcasts.
- Storage space: Apple Watch storage is limited, downloading too much may fill up the space.
- Playback method: must be played through Bluetooth headphones, the watch itself cannot be played directly.
- Membership requirements: must be a Premium subscription, free users cannot download for offline playback.
I hope this helps you, and you can listen to music more freely while running! 🏃♂️🎶
