Can I still transfer data from Android to iPhone after setup without reset?
gupload is a simple, free HTTP server that allows you to transfer files between devices on the same local network. It was specifically designed to transfer data from Android to iPhone after setup.
Because gupload is a command-line tool, the initial setup requires you to install a terminal environment on your Android phone. Here is the general setup workflow:
1. Install Termux on your Android phone. This is a free, open-source terminal emulator that lets you run Linux commands.
2. Launch Termux and use a command to download or install gupload.
3. Run gupload by typing its command in the terminal. The tool will start a server and display a local network address.
Once the initial setup is complete, the process of moving your files becomes very straightforward. Transfer data from Android to iPhone after setup by following these steps:
- Ensure Both Devices Are on the Same Wi-Fi Network: Your Android and iPhone need to be connected to the same router or Wi-Fi access point for the connection to work.
- Start the Server on Android: Open Termux and run the gupload command again.
- Navigate to the Address on Your iPhone: Open Safari or any web browser on your iPhone. Type the local network address that gupload displayed on your Android phone.
- Download Your Files: The browser will show a simple web page listing the files from your Android's storage directory. You can tap on any file to download it directly to your iPhone.
