Brightness not working after latest update

Update Graphics Driver: Go to Device Manager, find the Display Adapter, right-click on it and select Update Driver. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest graphics driver. Or reinstall Graphics Driver: If updating the graphics driver doesn't work, try uninstalling the graphics driver and then reinstalling it.
The thing with reinstalling the driver is that it reverts to old behavior after 2, maybe 3 reboots, and then one has to reinstall the driver again...
