I have the same issue like all the users here and I don’t see a single reply from a Windows team member providing a solution. Windows guys, DO SOMETHING!!!!
- Abdullah55Mar 17, 2023Copper ContributorThere is a way to fix it. You can go to settings and then recovery. Then press o back to an earlier version and you will go to the version right before this bugged one. Until Microsoft fixes this bug.
- Tali_CosmanMar 17, 2023Copper ContributorYes, I did that and my laptop brightness buttons are working again, To prevent Windows to install again the update that causes this issue I went to settings and paused the updates for 3 weeks, to give time Microsoft to fix the bug before I have to install again the update.

If you attempt to “Reset My PC”, you can no longer “Go Back” to a previous version.
Whatever your brightness was at the time the Insider Update image was installed is stuck. When Windows reboots or restarts, that brightness is set again to the Display because it was “remembered”. But User functions and power plan functions to reset brightness are ignored by Windows.
