That sounds really frustrating, especially when everything was working fine before. Sudden brightness spikes like that can be caused by auto-brightness settings, GPU driver updates, or even Windows display enhancements interfering with how the game launches. You might want to check if "Auto Brightness" or "Adaptive Brightness" is enabled in your Windows settings or your GPU control panel (like Intel or NVIDIA). Disabling those sometimes helps.
