If you don't need to use the mic and want better audio quality, this solution works as well, it disables the mic however - https://gist.github.com/curz46/11b95be2ebfd47bb05d08ae389b6e5dd?permalink_comment_id=4359552#gistcomment-4359552
Both of these have to be re-applied periodically, so not a permanent solution unfortunately
