Anyone know a good file shredder for mac for permanent data deletion?

I faced the same issue when I had to wipe a Mac, and I used Dr.Wiper. It securely deleted all files, ensuring nothing could be recovered, and it's a great option for Mac too!
I followed this tutorial: (workes great!)

Hi Scott,
If you’re looking for something native and privacy-focused, take a look at https://vaultsort.com/. It’s a Mac app designed around local-only file organization and secure deletion — nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere.
VaultSort includes a new Secure Disk Shred feature that can permanently erase files or even entire external drives, using multi-pass overwrites that make recovery impossible — even with forensic tools. It’s built specifically for macOS, works great on Apple Silicon, and doesn’t require any terminal commands.
If your goal is to wipe sensitive data before handing over the Mac, VaultSort is probably the simplest and most reliable option right now.
Best,
Justin
