Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17093 for PC
This update just crashed my dell XPS12 pc, now it is stuck at the dell bios, doing a restart loop every second. Thanks! how can i troubleshoot if i can't even get to the "windows failed to start" screen. Just keeps looping, and looping and looping. Luckily i have ubuntu on usb and could retrieve important files, but i'm not the only one. is there anything i can copy to MS to figure out the issue, I've read at least 1 other dell user having similar trouble with this 'update'

yes, same problem here on a HP 8760W. No way to recover? Anyone knows a solution?

My boot loop solution:
- Create a Windows 10 Installation Media (USB or DVD).
- Boot off this Install Media
- Choose "Repair this Computer" -> "Troubleshoot"
- Choose "Continue"
- PC should now boot normally
- In Windows disable Fast Startup in the power options of control panel
After that, booting should be possible without any problems.
Update to Build 171001, which has fixed this problem and Fast Startup can be activated again (if needed).

I followed your procedure and was finally able to login. But my normal account crashed immediately after entering the password but another account still did work. I have copied the user files of the corrupt account to a new account. This solved the problem and I'm now up and running.
The Microsoft helpdesk adviced me do a clean reinstall of Windows but that was not necessarily.

You can boot onto an installation usb go to repair at the bottom to access the recovery environment then open cmd from there so you can mess around with the file system - Richard ParkerFeb 09, 2018Copper ContributorSorry that I am no help but I had my XPS12 laptop on this auto update and now I'm in the same loop.
