After the update, Windows 11 has no sound and the audio isn't working
My Windows 11 laptop has no sound at all after a recent update. Speakers and headphones both dead. Volume is up, but nothing plays.
This is a known issue with recent Windows 11 updates, particularly version 24H2, where a one-time driver installation error can cause audio to stop working entirely. The good news is that it's almost always fixable.
