Added Sign In PIN code

I added a PIN code to a Windows 10 computer. Now the autofill options do not work when wanting to sign to web pages that require user name and password.

This is a common issue. Try going to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and turn Windows Hello for your PIN off and back on—that usually forces the credential manager to reconnect and fixes autofill.

The most common reason autofill stops is because adding the PIN signed your account out of its browser sync. Open your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) and make sure you are still signed into your account within the browser itself. Autofill requires this to access your saved passwords.

  • Add or change your PIN in Settings > Account > Login Options (you must first set an account password). The PIN can be used independently of the password for local login.
