Accessing data is slow with new server compared to a 10 year old server

I replaced a server for a client with a new one that's much faster, but the employees on the workstations say accessing the files are slower, especially searching. I did turn indexing on on the server. Data is on the RAID drives. Might throw in an SSD to see if that fixes things

Any other ideas or suggestions?

Implementing an SSD for the server’s OS and frequently accessed data can greatly improve read/write speeds.

Start by verifying network performance, expanding SSD cache, ensuring proper indexing, and monitoring resource usage. Combining hardware upgrades with configuration tweaks should help bridge the performance gap.

Ensure the server has sufficient CPU and RAM to handle multiple file requests and indexing. More RAM can help with caching and reduce disk.
