A way to get rid of Desktop.ini from Desktop folder in win11.

I tried to disable it on msconfig
& i even tried this:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes

But it still returns at startup ... .

That won't work because desktop.ini is a hidden system file that controls your desktop's view settings (like icons), not a boot file.

    To remove it (temporarily):

Open File Explorer > View > Show > Check "File name extensions" and "Hidden items".

Go to your Desktop folder. You should now see desktop.ini.

    Select it and press Delete.

Warning: Windows will often recreate this file. It's a core system file, so it's best to just leave it hidden and ignore it.

  • To hide existing desktop.ini files, enable "Hidden items" in Explorer and set "Hide protected operating system files." To delete them, delete the files manually. To prevent their recreation, consider registry edits or folder view settings.
