A Vision for Windows 12: Familiar Power Meets Modern Innovation

If they implement my suggestions then it will significantly improve the Files Explorer. The following are my feedback items.

Modernize File Explorer’s delete pipeline for better performance, safety, and UX in Windows 12

Improve naming consistency between File Explorer and Windows Explorer

I assume that those will not be available before Windows 12. They might be able to implement the following sooner, I do not know.

Add a simple content summary to delete confirmation when deleting non‑empty folders in File Explorer

Hide the root folder from File Explorer search results

Add a dedicated filter UI area for File Explorer search

Add a hierarchical tree view for File Explorer search results, with folder sizes and file counts

Add a built‑in duplicate‑finder tool using two Explorer tabs

I also submitted Add List Mode as a supported desktop layout option and that is not really a File Explorer feature but it is for Microsoft internally.
