FTP client not working in cloud desktop

Has anyone had a problem with the ftp client not working on cloud desktop?  I've tried FileZilla, coreFTP, and the native command prompt.  I am able to connect from a non-cloud machine.  I've even disabled the firewall.  Is there anything (settings) that I have missed?  I always get the same error "Connection timed out"
