UPDATES SO OFTEN
Everytime I accept an update, my computer negatively affected. Either crashes, freezes, or slowing down. Can anyone tell me what is the point of them updates that happens too often. Sometimes twice a week? Why? I do not wish to update my perfectly working computer.

blueberryfinn It's incredibly irresponsible and very frustrating the way Windows (and Edge specifically) handles updates. It forces updates in the middle of large downloads (even from their own OneDrive), and hours of downloading get lost. I wonder what kind of people work at this company and how they have managed to grow so big. Their browser can't even understand that a download is in progress and that it should NOT quit Edge while doing that. It's not rocket science, it's not even coding, it's just very very basic common sense. I tried to switch to Edge from Safari, but boy will I run back to Safari now.

Hi blueberryfinn,
Updates happen frequently for a few reasons:
Security: Updates often include fixes for new security issues. They protect your computer from viruses and hackers.
Bug Fixes: Updates also repair software bugs, making your computer work better.
New Features: Sometimes, updates add new features to your software.
The reason why Windows updates so often is that Microsoft services Windows with new feature updates, bug fixes, driver updates, Window Defender definition updates, etc.
However, updates can sometimes cause issues. If this happens, here's what you can do:
Wait: Don't rush to update. Wait a few days to see if others report problems.
Backup: Before updating, make a copy of your computer. If there's a problem, you can restore it.
Turn Off Auto-Updates: You can control when updates happen. Turn off automatic updates, but remember to check for them yourself.

"security issues" and "repair software bugs", this means the Microsoft can´t do software without bugs? why don't make a good thing, fix bugs and then to sell?
"New Features", why dont think the good thing and then to sell? If a person buy a software thats because like it. Dont need to add new things...
All this means it´s all bugs...
Please make a good thing.
Too many bug fixes and security its a bad image of Microsoft. Think about it.

The why question is easy!! Ever know Microsoft NOT to screw it ip the first time!!

the why question is easy!! but it is the basic question that needs to be asked. Microsoft has become a big joke, its software updates and big update download sizes are so annoying, even the operating system for e.g., takes too much space - 57 GB - windows 11. Completely ridiculous. The updates take 2-3 hr even with very high speed internet and no other devices or video streaming/downloading or browsing happening, the windows installation/reinstallation takes 3-4 hr which is super annoying...
bug fixes ??? seriously - why can't they fix the bugs all in one go or at least for only once in 3-4 months ? so bugs every day ??? Literally bugs every day ??
They ARE MICROSOFT, such a big company - they need to do much better than this.
if they are doing bug fixes every day what meaning does it give ? It gives clear indication that they are so incapable of doing a good software & there is no clear explanation either why a security update is needed. Yes, they do give links to read about an update , but most people can't even understand it.
Okay, I understand that windows updates can be turned off - but what if some issue happens and windows need to be installed again, windows reinstallation itself takes 3-4 hours which is literally so annoying.
