Better Managing Business Apps via M365
I wonder if M365 offer better management for business apps. Our still on-perm SCCM environment manages a lot of third-party business apps & the areas which my IT admin team is facing difficult for is the packaging phase (specially preparing a software to be in silent mode). It really wastes our time & effort to create a silent package for those apps. Does M365 ease this process.
- Preparing applications to be deployed by any tool can be challenging. This is not specific to Microsoft management tools though (which includes Intune and ConfigMgr). The complexity with this task lies with the vendors creating the installers for their applications. In general, most application installers, particularly those that use standard installers like Windows Installer, are straight-forward to work with and make silent. However, if the vendor chooses to deviate from the norm, this can increase the complexity of the task. As noted though, this is outside the scope of control of Microsoft in nearly all cases. We can establish standards, but it's up to the third-party vendors to follow them.
