WDAG Running Computers into the Ground on Startup
Hi,
I have several computers, all different, that won't work properly on startup due to a process called VMMEM running constantly and taking up a large amount of RAM, CPU, and disk time. This is despite the computers having good CPUs, at least 16gb RAM and SSDs and before any applications are opened. Disabling WDAG seems to fix this but that isn't an option for me as I need the security it provides.
I've had a little look online and know that VMMEM is mostly to do with virtual environments and sandboxes, like WSL, but all of these computers don't have anything like that on them so I can only conclude that it is WDAG being very aggressive or pre-taking a large amount of resources.
The impact that this has is large as the computer is as slow as trying to run windows on an HDD, if anyone remembers how slow that was, except the slowdown is for a good 30-90 minutes every boot.
If anyone has any idea on how to make VMMEM cool off or limit the resources it can use, that would be much appreciated.
