KB5121003 replaces Hotpatch KB5120994
Hi Everyone,
I need urgent assistance on below;
User installed Hotpatch KB5120994 ( which we do not show in our Patch Solution )
KB5121003 is detected in the patch scan and user created a patch Job using the same.
The patch got installed successfully.
But KB5121003 replaced the Hotpatch KB5120994 - Is this an expected behavior?

I know both are released on 11th Aug 2026
Is the Hotpatch KB5120994 released before KB5121003 ?

This can be expected when the device receives a standard cumulative update instead of, or alongside, the hotpatch. Hotpatch devices must meet licensing, Windows version, Intune policy, and current baseline prerequisites. An ineligible device receives the normal latest cumulative update, while a device missing the baseline can receive a restart-requiring baseline. Verify the edition and build, assigned quality-update policy with Hotpatch allowed, and device status in the Hotpatch report. Compare the OS build and supersedence information on both Microsoft update pages; a shared release date does not establish installation order. Check whether your patch solution explicitly approved KB5121003, because installing the full cumulative package can place the device on conventional servicing for that cycle. After the required restart, rescan eligibility instead of reinstalling KB5120994 manually. If the report says the device is eligible but it repeatedly receives only LCUs, export the Intune update report and open Microsoft support
