I've read you need to deploy Intune as well as SCCM in order to fully manage devices in your organization. But I just learned SCCM cannot manage Win 10 S. How does this work?

I am not sure where you got the reference on needing ConfigMgr. Intune Azure Portal can fully manage Windows 10 S devices w/o ConfigMgr.

Sorry, I mean for Win 10 ... Not S. I saw on technet that it is more powerful to use Config manager + Intune. But for 10 S, since it is app based, is Intune sufficient?

For Windows 10 S, Intune is sufficient.
For Windows 10 desktop editions, ConfigMgr does have comprehensive features to support them. And from MDM side, Windows is adding more management features to the MDM channel in each feature update, and Intune is also adding support to those management features.- Julia WassermanJul 26, 2017Copper Contributor
