Autopatch storing data in US datacenters only
Hi,
Due to company policy our data must be stored within the EU.
Autopatch is storing data in the US:
"Windows Autopatch stores its data in the Azure data centers in the United States."
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/windows-autopatch/references/windows-autopatch-privacy#windows-autopatch-data-storage-and-staff-location
This prohibits us from using Autopatch - Are there any plans for having Autopatch storing data in the EU?

Hi Ugur_Koc ,
Please take a look at: Privacy - Windows Deployment | Microsoft Learn and Data retention, deletion, and destruction in Microsoft 365 - Microsoft Service Assurance | Microsoft Learn which describe the different data types and uses.

Hi Frank664,
Please take a look at What’s new in Windows Autopatch: November 2022 - Microsoft Community Hub as we have just announced a new global data storage change that should allow you to adopt Windows Autopatch in your scenario: "the Autopatch data of customers located in the European Union (EU) will be stored in an EU data center".

Richard

- Ugur_KocBrass ContributorHi,
thanks for pointing to this topic.
I would really like to have an answer to this from a MSFT Employee.
What does the following mean?
"Personal data obtained by Windows Autopatch and other services are required to keep the service operational."
What personal data? Why are the diagnostic logs not enough to run the service?
