Autopatch License Error

Hi

I've run the readiness tests for Autopatch and I'm getting a Licensing error. All users are licensed with M365 E5 which I just upgraded from E3 at the beginning of October. I logged a call with Microsoft who just sent me a link to Docs! Any ideas of what's causing the error?

Cheers

Simon

  • Hi SimonJRCBC ,

Can you double check that you hold Windows 10/11 Enterprise E3 or higher within the eligible service plans for Autopatch Prerequisites - Windows Deployment | Microsoft Learn (note that this list will be expanded in Mid-November to include additional Windows E3/5 SKUs).

From your screenshot, you have highlighted Office 365 E5 and the EMS E5 add-on, both of which do not contain a qualifying Windows Enterprise license for Autopatch.

    Regards,

    Richard

Hi RichardLian Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm guessing this is due to how we originally purchased M365 E3 and how it's been renewed over the years to get the best price. I have 1250 user with 'M365 E5 Original FSA Sub Per User' and 550 users with 'M365 Original Sub Per User'. I recently upgraded from E3 through the UK's Crown Commercial Service Ramp offer.

      Regards Simon

        Hi SimonJRCBC,

Thanks for sharing the SKU's you currently hold. These are part of the updated group that will be published later this month. I will send you a private message to continue the discussion so we can look at the best way to get you enrolled.

        Regards,

        Richard
