Reporting on action plans

I have shared some great documentation that will walk users through how to create and cascade focus areas. In addition, I have included documents on Viva Glint's current focus area reporting capabilities.
Focus area access is determined by the permissions within each user role. If a user is in a user role with focus area permissions, they will be able to create and edit their own focus areas.
- If you are a manager with direct reports, you will also see additional tabs next to My Focus Areas, including Company and My Direct Reports (if you have no direct reports, this tab will not display).
- You can cascade or share your Focus Areas with other members of your organization. You can also export to PDF.
- To track your team's Focus Areas progress, use Viva Glint's Focus Area Overview report.

- thank you Alander, this is very helpful for focus areas, my main question was specifically around individual action items: I presume progress on these isn't tracked individually, just at focus area level?

I have shared a link that will show how you can export "all action items" specifically. This will show all the individual action items that each user has created. I hope this helps, but let me know if you have additional questions.
Use Viva Glint's Focus Area Overview report | Microsoft Learn
From the admin dashboard, follow this procedure:
- From the top menu bar, select the Reports tab.
- In the left-most column of the Reports page, select Focus Area Overview.
Export data from the Focus Area Overview report
Use the Export menu to choose your export option.
- Export Focus Areas Usage to Spreadsheet, or
- Export All Action Items to Spreadsheet.
Export data from the admin dashboard
- In the Action Taking section, select All Action Items Report.
- The report automatically generates as a .csv file.
