Notifications for scheduled publications that fail to send

So far, Microsoft has not implemented a workflow for failed publication notifications in Viva Amplify. The latest feature in the roadmap goes all the way back to April this year and is related to republishing publications. I have also experienced failed publications without explanation and no option for troubleshooting beyond looking for common denominators.

The only workaround that comes to mind is to set up a Power Automate workflow as a "listener" for scheduled publications. But it may be a long shot due to a lack of hooks to "listen" for as triggers.

As a heads up, Microsoft has slowly been porting Viva features into their flagship products over the last year and that may be the reason for a lack of roadmap updates for the Viva products.

• Renaming of "Viva Connections" to "SharePoint in Teams"
• "Email" Preview mode in news post page creation in SharePoint
• Deprecation of Viva Goals in late 2025
• Deprecation of Viva Topics in early 2025

As far as I know, the Viva suite was not selling well with customers. My presumption at this point is Microsoft will continue this trend and leave behind only the Viva products that resonate with customers. It's very possible that Amplify will become an add-on within SharePoint and the name will be dropped, just like with Viva Connections. But I can't say for sure what they are planning. I have the same information you do and will keep my ear to the ground.
