To Do App sort by category
I began using the To Do app just last week. Loved how it pulled all of my flagged emails and Planner tasks into one list. Up until 2 days ago I was able to sort by categories, which flowed over from ...

Duchic Yes you can absolutely add categories. My concern is the functionality to sort by category was removed.

Just seeing this and I figured it out...
In Settings enable the "All" Smart List.
For that list select Group at the top right and select Categories
My "All" list is now Grouped and Sorted by the categories setup in Tasks.
My "My Day" is also grouped by category.
The grouping is persistent when I click away and return.
Good Luck,
Ben
- BMosesOKApr 01, 2024Copper ContributorDoesn't work for me. I installed MS To-Do phone app for Android version 2.114.690.00 build #334. "Categories" is NOT a grouping option. "Categories" IS an option on Outlook.com for Windows, but it doesn't work - it shows the Categories but does not group by them.

badair Hi, your solution looked promising, but when I click on the ... in the top right corner on my 'All' list, I don't have a 'Group' option. I only have 'Edit', 'Sort', 'Change Theme', 'Print List' and 'Send a Copy' as list options.

badair We're probably comparing different apps.
On my laptop (Windows 10), To Do in desktop Outlook (not the new version) it's OK:
On my phone (IOS 17.1.1), To Do app (updated today): no option to group
The 'All' list is enabled in both apps as you can see, no issues there.

Sandra
