"Skip to current task" incorrectly skipping too far ahead

Is anyone else having to keep an eagle eye on when the 'skip to current task' option is actually skipping to?

I had a task set fortnightly. On an in-between week, I was a week overdue, and I told it to just skip to the current task, expecting it to now be due the next week. Instead, it was now in 3 weeks time!

Similarly, I have a task that recurs every week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. When I was overdue on the Friday task, I told it to skip to current task, but instead of it now being due on Monday, it was due on Wednesday. So the upcoming Monday task was ignored completely.

So I don't trust the 'skip to current task', and have to check the new date each time I use it.

I've found repeating tasks that look like that's happened, but I've also caught myself accidentally marking future occurrences done. If I mark the recent one done, the next occurrence pops up in the Recently Added section of Suggestions, and sometimes I forget I just marked it done, and do it again. then I have to go into the Completed section and find it to unmark it.

pssss1000 Thank you for taking the time and effort to add your suggestion. Unfortunately, that's not what is happening for me at all.

The "Skip to current task" button only appears on recurring tasks that are overdue, so if I had accidentally cleared them into the future (and I'm not sure how I would as, for me, when they pop up in a suggestion they have their dates on them) then I wouldn't have the option to "Skip to current task".

My issue is that I'm in a task that's overdue, and click the "Skip to current task" button and actively see the due date change from a red date in the past to an incorrect black date too far in the future. I then have to edit the due date myself, back to the actual current task.
