Searching for TO DO tasks in Outlook
This is incredibly fustrating and shocked Microsoft havent worked on this. A search option is essential.
Phillip_AT_Jones I have the same issue. It is incredbily frustrating and I am leaving this comment in the hope that Microsoft bring this feature back ASAP. It is taking an age and should be one of the most fundamental requirements for any task management list. Come on Microsoft, let's get it together shall we. I'll be reverting to Copilot AI to create an option soon! Much more responsive!
- abeck1226Feb 28, 2024Copper ContributorI found a small (albeit annoying) work around, but I don't have a ton of tasks (currently only about 150) so for me it's feasible. I'm on my "planned" tasks tab and scroll quickly all the way to the bottom of the list. Ctrl+F to opens a search box and I can type what I need to search. This only worked after I scrolled to the bottom of the list which was quick for me with only a few tasks. Hope this helps someone.

abeck1226 Seems to now be present at the top bar in the new Outlook.

PANadmin , the search bar at the top of the "To Do" tab just jumps back to the "Mail" tab search tool. I don't know if this is new functionality, but if you change the search to "All Outlook Items", one of the results is the "Tasks" category, which is what we want. You have to wade through all the other search results (Inbox, Calendar, etc.), but it's better than nothing.

abeck1226 Thank you. That’s a good idea and will try this. Using the web version of tasks is a good option too which works well. I just hope MS can sort out the same function in PC application. Think not must just be an oversight but hope they catch up very soon or explain why they can’t or haven’t done it.
