Not able to move tasks from task list to any custom lists that I created

After creating the list it shows "drag here to add lists" but not actually able to do this. When I drag a task into the list the list gets highlighted but does not actually show the task in the list. Also when right clicking the task the move option does not show any of the custom lists I created as an option for the move.
