Microsft To Do for Mac keeps crashing

Recently the desktop app of To Do is crashing when I try to check off a task. Is there a fix? Thanks for any advice.

MacBook Pro

operating system: Ventura 13.0.1

Microsoft To Do Version 2.83 (221110.0331)

I have the same issue. ToDo has crashed 3 times already this morning. Each time it was after I clicked on the radio button to complete a task.

Exactly. I can add items to lists but whenever I click to complete an action, ToDo immediately crashes.

I received help from Zeeshan, Microsoft Support and it works for me:

    - Uninstall the To Do Mac app
    - Open Finder and press CMD+Shift+G
    - Enter “~/Library/Group Containers” and delete “UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.to-do-mac” folder
    - Press CMD+Shift+G
    - Enter “~/Library/Containers” and delete “Microsoft To Do” folder
    - Restart your device, download the app from the App Store and check.

Oh yeah! Works for me too 😄
      Thanks dinhnext and Zeeshan
  • This is happening to me as well. Every. Single. Time. If I try to check off a task. If I try to move a task. If I try to create a task. It locks up and the cursor is spinning. I don't have this problem on my iPhone or my MacBook Pro. It's only on my MacBook Air. This has been happening for several months. I occasionally open it to see if software updates have fixed it, but they have not. SDanielle

To Do crashes 1 a day. Great application, but not intended for long-term use (without a restart)

James1111 I found another bug: if you select multiple items and try to bulk move them to another list, they just disappear. The issue can be reproduced specifically on the desktop version. Such a shame...

I have same problem with Monteray I can not even open the app after I downloaded new version fron app store. I did upgrade to 12.6.6 but same problem. While using another user at same laptop it works!!! I tried another MacBook 12.6.3. I istalled the app again and it works fine even there. I have got support from Apple online and they made a clean startup to see if it's related to my computer but it's not. Very frustrating...Grrrrrr !!  James1111

Bjorken  Same problem! I updated a couple days ago to the latest Mac OS app because it forced me to and now cannot open To-do w/o it immediately crashing. Macbook Pro, Monterey. I did a clean uninstall and reinstall, still crashes every time. MS Help have not responded to my help ticket in 5 days. I am now comparing features on Todoist and TickTick, as I can't manage my workflow w/o being able to use my task manager on my computer.  Having been a loyal user since the Wunderlist days, this is pretty galling.
