Feature request: Add to My Day (Tomorrow)
The process that you describe is what I use, but I find it very frustrating in the early AM. I want to go to bed in the evening, knowing my work has been planned, and hit the ground running, not being forced to reshuffle everything the next day. In the evening, I am able to focus more, whereas planning in the morning is very difficult until coffee #3 kicks in.
Like others, I really like the My Day feature, but there needs to be a quick and easy way to plan at least 1 day forward.
- RheinliebeJun 27, 2022Brass ContributorWell, it seems you might need a lot more coffee to understand the issue 😉 Clicking on plus is not the challenge but to organise "My day" the night before. If I do this, all action points will be gone again on the actual day and I have to do it all over again. I want to be able to plan my tasks for the following day rather than on that day.
- Dr_SnoozeJun 28, 2022Brass ContributorYour action points are not gone. They are there in the Suggestions panel. It's the first thing that pops up in My Day when you click on it each morning. All your uncompleted My Day tasks from the day before are listed there. Just click the plus signs to add them back to My Day. No coffee required. 🙂

I agree 100% with Rheinliebe , so as he/she clearly demonstrates, there is no forward "look" capacity except for everything based on Due dates which is really poor.
Here is another simple example.
Something may not be due for 3 weeks, but I need to give it a mere 15mins tomorrow. I determine that fact during a team meeting at 11am, but now I need to create another task in outlook & Flag it, or To-Do or Planner or appointment in calendar (so complicated) & date it, to remind to spend time on it for tomorrow. Then I must hold that in my memory all day & all night until the next morning so that I do not forget 'tomorrow morning' to include it in 'my day' now that I can put it in 'My Day'
Now is a problem, Nor can I take 5 or 10mins out at the end of the day and map out tomorrow - do I have 8hours of work to do or 15hrs? When can I fit it in? What needs delaying to another day or delegating to another team member? How can I take on an extra task for the team tomorrow?
Who knows with this system.
Just a "my tomorrow" would be a huge help - it is the weakest link in the chain with this system.
You end up reactive with your time management, and an under achiever. To get good amounts done and get ahead in life we need to be able to plan our time ahead a lot better than this.
- Geert_EJun 28, 2022Brass ContributorThey are not completely gone. If you display the proposals from todo the next day, the unfinished todo's are neatly displayed. They are quickly identified for today. Ideal solution? Certainly not, but it's the best work around solution I've found so far (and I've tried a few).
