Complete recurring tasks requires completing twice on To Do for Mac

Using version 2.6 of To Do on Mac.

I have a number of monthly recurring tasks.

When I choose the radio button to Complete Task (in selected detail sidebar view) the task detail disappears to acknowledge it has accepted my completion, but it still appears in the detail view with the same due date as before completion.  I am then required to choose the radio button in List View a second time to mark the task as completed.  After completing the second time, the task properly updates to show this month's recurring task has been completed and that it is now due 1 month from now.

I have the same issue on both iPhone and iPad.   It has become extremely annoying and I am looking for a solution including new mobile planning apps.  Surely, this is something that could be fixed easily.

OK, Microsoft ... here's what I think is happening:

When I mark as complete a recurring task with a due date before or on today, it recreates that task with the same due date. It also shows the completed task (the one that I just marked complete) in my completed list too. So, I am absolutely convinced that it is actually recreating the task. Meanwhile, if I mark a future task complete, then it recreates it correctly with the future date. It must have something to do with the coding for setting the correct due date for the next task and probably has some sort of "less than or equal to" command that needs to be rethought and fixed. It seems like it should be quick fix...c'mon guys, fix it!
