Can tasks automatically be assigned to "today"?

In an older release, MS ToDo use to automatically assign new tasks to 'today' if you didn't select a specific date. Now if you type something in and hit enter, it doesn't assign a date meaning it goes to the end of a massive list and you need to find it.
Is there a way to set this to the old behavior? It's not particularly fast if I need to create 10 tasks right now and then need to go assign a date to each one.

You can already do this. Open My Day first and add the new tasks within the My Day list and they'll automatically be added to your My Day list AND your Tasks list.  While you're adding the task, you can change what main list it'll add to AND set a due date AND a reminder date (see pic).  No matter what list and dates you choose, as long as you've added the task *in* My Day, the task will automatically show up in My Day as well.

(This applies on the Windows app and Android app.)
