About Microsoft Teams (free) and Microsoft Teams Free (classic) versions
JGlowackiMany thanks for current versions details.
alankruThanks indeed for confirming that I was already on Microsoft Teams (free) and not on Microsoft Teams Free (classic) and which had to be last update I too should have expected to receive too.
It seems there just was some delay in v1.6.0012455 propagation because I only received it yesterday evening, so now I too have same version (and I also guess that if trying to signup again for Microsoft Teams (free) I should also need to have my local version already closed).
What I still found a little unclear is why after I choose [ Sign up for free ] , then reconfirm same choice after I'm shown a very quick summary of Microsoft Teams Essentials as "most popular Teams option", and I confirm which account I'd like use for signing in for Microsoft Teams (free) (so basically same one I used in the past) then I'm also being asked 'How do you want to use Teams?' I see these following 3 options :
- For school (To connect students and faculty for courses and projects, in a classroom or online)
- For friends and family (For everyday life, to make audio or video calls)
- For work and organizations (To work with teammates wherever they are)
Could anyone add more details about what should happen if I'd like to try choosing 3rd option ?
Would doing so also mean that I'm also indeed also implicitly asking to instead switch to another version of Microsoft Teams (i.e. Microsoft Teams Essentials) that it different from Microsoft Teams (free) ?
(I'm also asking because when I initially tried some days ago I saw some very unclear and generic errors... :-s )
Once again thanks in advance for next replies.

SwimmeRM From what you have described, you are doing everything correctly.
When I signed up for the new Microsoft Teams (free), I used the same Microsoft account again (that I had already been using for classic) and I chose Option 3, "For work and organizations (To work with teammates wherever they are)".
I thought the same as you when signing up (is this going to sign me up to the paid option?!) - Microsoft appears to be using one signup page to redirect to multiple things, but the outcome is that it works, so give it another try.
