SQL 2016 Cluster for SCCM

do you recomend SQL cluster for the System Center Configuration Manager Instance? Boss in the office want to implement SQL in cluster for it but I want to know the pro and cons. The SQL cluster is 2016 version as well as the SCCM. Also SCCM have one primary site and secondary site configuration.

    in the last few years i have not good experience in SQL Clusters.

    i would prefer build it directly on the sccm site server.
    if your boss want to cluster the SQL look at availablity groups.
    sql cluster can act like a diva if you want to extend the diskspace
