Surface Pro 8 Signature Keyboard Defect: Internal bulge at hinge breaks connection
Hi, I’m sorry this has happened again, especially after careful use and less than two years of ownership. Because you can feel an internal deformation, I would stop repeatedly flexing the hinge and disconnect the keyboard when it is not needed. Do not try to open or flatten it yourself. Take a short video showing the connection dropping at different angles, photograph the hinge from both sides under good lighting, and record the keyboard serial number and proof of purchase. Open a Surface support case and describe it as an internal mechanical deformation with an intermittent electrical connection rather than ordinary wear. If the bulge grows, becomes warm, develops an odor, or damages the outer material, stop using it completely and tell support that there may be a hardware-safety concern.
