Current SQL Server Certifications

Hello,

I had a couple Microsoft certifications many years ago and am interested in getting re-certified in SQL Server.  I looked on learning.microsoft.com but couldn't find any certification options.  Am I looking in the right place?  Does Microsoft still offer SQL Server certifications?

Thanks,

Brett

  • MS has retired its traditional SQL server certifications such as the microsoft certified solution associate ( MCSA ) for sql server as part of shift towards role-based certifications focusing on azure cloud.

A relavant certification is the Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate, which assesses your ability to manage and implement operational aspects of cloud native and hybrid data platform solutions built on azure services.

You can explore various learning paths and resources available on microsoft learn

    Azure SQL fundamentals

Migrate SQL Server workloads to Azure SQL database - Applied Skills

These can help you to build necessary skills to pursue the azure db admin associate certification which is sufficient.

Hello, I think that the certifications in SQL Server have been discontinued, some time ago I obtained a certification in C# from microsoft in partnership with freeCodCamp, in which the training was by microsoft learn and the certification exam in freeCodCamp, and I looked to know about the certifications in SQL Server and recently I took the AZ 900 certification exam and searched again about SQL Server certifications so they were probably discontinued
