Skype meeting room UI

Morning,

I was wondering if there is some sort of meeting room UI for SfB? I have a large touch screen for our conference room and it would be quite nice if the was a simplified, yet fully featured SfB interface I could use?

thanks

  • Hi Jacob -

    Are you familiar with https://products.office.com/en-us/skype-for-business/online-meeting-solutions?

Pretty amazing meeting experience.  Logitech, Crestron, and Polycom have Skype Room Systems - links are included on the link I shared, above, to see in more detail.

Skype Room Systems provides a complete Skype for Business meeting room experience that brings HD audio video experience to your meeting. Work like you’re in one place; quickly and easily join meetings, make phone calls, instantly share content in room and remotely, all from an elegant touch screen console device. Transform your meeting rooms and make any space a Skype meeting place.

Hi Laurie, so we currently have 4 84" Smart Skype Room Systems (8084i), but we find them very limited by the interface. For example, it's not possible to call Skype 'personal' users, it's incredibly hard to share content. I've installed Windows 10 on one, and it's far better, as allows us to use all SfB windows client features- the downside being it's no longer all that slick/intuitive.

I guess in an ideal world, it would be nice to have a similar interface to the Surface Hubs, but there is no way we're going to replace these for a couple of years due to the high capex.

We have a solution which is s/w based and deployed to a NUC with a number of usb/hdmi ports. It leverages all the MICROSOFT certified cameras including LogiTech and Polycom.  The LogItech c3000 provides best bang for buck and supports 10xZoom, Pant Tilt, 1080P for less than 1k.

If a users sent out a meeting invite using the outlook Sfb plug in and inckuded the VIC room in the invite, the conference is listed on the touch screen with single finger touch to start.  Ad hoc conference supported as is conference recording, chat, change layout etc

if you send me en email, Peter.mccrindle@cti.com,au I can send you info.
