Skype for Business 2016 Client with Lync Server 2010 Backend

Hi, as the title suggests, does anyone know off the top of their head whether running the Skype for Business 2016 client that comes as part of the Office Pro Plus suite is supported for use against a Lync Server 2010 backend, and if so what the minimum required version level is for that backend?

 

I've been advised by Microsoft Support that this is supported, but they are surprisingly not able to provide any definitive documentation or reference around that statement. Needless to say I'm a little hesitate acknowledging this without any solid reference point.

 

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

    Hello Ben,

     

    I guess you can refer link given below which states patch level for Skype for Business client. Even this article is too old but it do discuss the Lync 2010 server and patch level for Skype for Business clients.
