New Skype for Business Community Champ

Hi there,
My name is Helbert and I’m one of the new Skype for Business community champ. I’m the principal engineering manager responsible for all the telephone number management for Skype for Business globally. Everything you can think of from number stock/availability, onboarding new markets to port numbers to and from Microsoft will show up in my radar (and touch “my” code). I’m also familiar with other aspect of Skype for Business, mainly around cloud PSTN and Cloud Conferencing and know pretty much all the developers, product owners and managers working in this area, so I can count on good help to shed some light at your questions.

I’m very passionate about making things right and always making them better, and this is why I volunteered (really volunteered) to be engaged with this community. I would love to hear your difficulties, feedback (and also compliments, end of the day I’m also a human ).

Please let me know how can I help and what you have in mind and I’ll do my best to be of any use.

Cheers,
Helbert

Depends on what DID block we are talking about.

Whenver you have the licenses, you'll have access to our inventory and will be able to acquire numbers from there, which will work pretty much immediately (some variations depending on the country). Note that as of today, our search will give you a list of numbers on the requested city but they are not contiguous. If this is Ok with you, the answer is, you'll get the numbers immediately.

Now, if you have special requirements, like contiguous blocks or numbers in areas where we don't provide coverage right now, this request will need to be filed via service desk and the completion time will depend on many factors, like requested area, quantity, etc. What I've seen in the past is that in many cases the requests are fulfilled within few days unless we have problems sourcing the numbers.

Thanks Kjetil. Indeed a very exiting role :)
Unfortunately I don't have a timeline for product offering.

Interesting to say that, our Cloud PSTN Conferencing service does offer inbound numbers in Norway, Sweeden and Denmark though, so if you have the oportunity to join one of our online meetings, you would be able to do so using in-country dailing :)
