So let me make sure I understand you, I just switched my entire school to SfB, and now we won't be able use it on mobile? My district is not deploying Teams, so this is a big problem. Ugh.
After weeks of searching for answers, the SfB team told me this week that past conversations can only be viewed from Conversation History in Outlook. If you use different apps for conversations (desktop, iOS, OWA), you cannot see entire conversation histories. That is part of the basic problem - the lack of history following the user.

Jennifer,
My understanding is that S4B only becomes unavailable via mobile IF your district were to implement Teams. Since you are not implementing teams, you should not have to worry about the functionality of mobile.
That being said, S4B is still terrible and this issue with session based messaging is not likely to ever be resolved so be prepared for about 40 conversations with the same contact showing up in your chat log and never being able to accurately find anything in chat history.

Thank you for the clarification. It's confusing for sure. Grouped View helped a bit, but it gets a little crazy.
