Any way to get the conversation history from conversation windows instead from Outlook folder?

Outlook conversation history Folder is the best place to view the conversation history. You may also be able to see recent conversations from the conversations tab in the LYNC/SFB client (Screen shot attached) However this tab only shows the recent conversations and to be able to view them you have to click and open the conversation which would open it in a active LYNC IM window.

Conversation is normally saved in Outlook by the Client using EWS.

When you are having an Active IM session with a User the client may not save the conversation immediately, the COnversation is saved only if your Im session goes Inactive for some programmed interval of time. I do not know how long the lcient waits before decideing to save the conversation once it goes idle. Once the conversation is saved, if you resume the IM session again from the Same IM window then the client will again save the Entire conversation from the very beginning once it goes idle again and the process continues till you actually close the IM session window.

If however you close the Im window everytime you are done with the IM session instead of letting it open and idle in the background then you will find a new conversation being saved everytime which will not have repeated information from the previous chat.

If you open a previous conversation again then this will open a new chat window but will still have all old IM's in the chat window so when this conversation again goes idle the client will once again save the entire conversation from the very begining as a new entry.

This is my observation and is probably the by design behaviour of Conversation history storage.
