SfB for MAC 16.17.65, no emoticon animations

Question

I recently went full time with my MAC, originally on Sierra and now on High Sierra, but I have never seen the SfB emoticons animated, as they are on my iOS and Windows devices.

Is this expected behavior or is there an additional step I need to take to enable?

Been experiencing this myself as well. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if it worked. :)
