Skype for Business on Mac Single Window mode

We received many feedbacks from you about the Single Window mode.  We made some changes in 16.2, currently available for Insiders, to simplify the mode.

• Single Window mode will be available for all users (SFB Online, SFB Server 2015 and Lync Server 2013) depending on their IM archiving client policy (see Set-CsClientPolicy technet article)
• Will no longer depend on server side conversation history (SSCH)
• Single Window mode is On when EnableAutoIMArchiving client side policy is enabled or not set. User has the option to change to separate windows.
• Single Window mode is Off when EnableAutoIMArchiving is disabled. User will only have separate windows. There is no option to change.

Thank you for your participation and feedback in SFB Mac Insider Preview program.

8/2/17. Still no progress on these issues. I've looked on other posts and at least for file transfer we were supposed to see it implemented Q2CY17. Well, we're halfway through Q3 already and still no progress. I still have no single window mode or tabbed chats so I have a ton of floating message windows- some from the same person multiple times because there doesn't seem to be a way to continue to work off the same window. I also am finding that I'm getting "missed conversation with" emails before the chat even shows up now. I really want this product to work. I know that people are eager for things like PSTN etc but I don't see why these are so difficult to achieve. These are what I would consider some of your basic features. Is there any progress update at all on any of this? The wish list (for basic features) is a few posts above. Is there someone or somewhere else we should be asking? Thanks.

    It's 2-May-2017 now...

Any news on when Single-Window UI will be available for users with EnableAutoIMArchiving disabled by group policy?

We are unable to change ours for compliance reasons. Tabbed windows are available to all of our Windows users it only makes sense that this should be allowed with our Mac users as well.

Please provide any information on this that you can.

    Thank you.

Ben, Eric, what server backend are you using?  Lync Server 2013, SFB Server 2015 or SFB Online?

Any news on when we can expect an update that will allow Single Window mode for people where Group Policy has dictated AutoIMArchiving is disabled?

this is working for me now, but the client does not seem to remember the preference setting. Each time I start it I have to go to preferences and uncheck the option in order to get single windoe mode again. The preference also changes the UI for the contacts and meetings screen, removing the additonal info panel. Seems like those could be separate as the single pane view for those is not nearly as useful

Kam Foo Aw How can we find out if enableimarchiving is enabled or disabled?

I checked the SfB log file and I could not find a property in it with that name. What does seem related to it are:

    <property name="callLogArchiving">Enabled</property>

    <property name="messageArchiving">Disabled</property>

    <property name="multiViewJoin">Enabled</property>

    <property name="saveMessagingHistory">Enabled</property>

    <property name="saveCallLogs">Enabled</property>

    <property name="clientExchangeConnectivity">Enabled</property>

Based on this only one that is disabled is messageArchiving. Is that why I still can not get a single window?

Will this be fixed in the future? On Windows I can have a single window.

    Thanks.
