Windows 10 Dell PC Sometimes Becomes Very Slow, What Should I Check?
Hi everyone,
I'm having an intermittent performance issue with my Dell PC running Windows 10. Most of the time it works normally, but every now and then the system suddenly becomes noticeably slow.
When this happens, opening applications takes longer than usual, switching between windows feels delayed, and sometimes even File Explorer takes a few seconds to respond. The slowdown usually goes away after a while or after restarting the PC, so I haven't been able to identify a consistent pattern.
I'm wondering if the problem could be related to a Dell driver, Windows background process, startup application, or possibly the storage drive. Since the computer is normally responsive, it's difficult to tell what changes when the slowdown starts.
I'd like to troubleshoot this properly rather than simply restarting the machine whenever it happens. Are there any particular Event Viewer logs, Task Manager details, Dell diagnostic tools, or Windows performance checks that would be useful for identifying the cause?
If anyone has experienced intermittent slowdowns on a Dell system running Windows 10, I'd appreciate hearing what helped you find the cause.
Thanks!
