From Goal to Continuous Improvement: A Practical Copilot Studio Agent Lifecycle

Hi everyone,

I recently created a short walkthrough and interactive workflow to help visualize the lifecycle of building an agent in Copilot Studio.

The framework focuses on the following stages:

• Goal
• Create
• Authentication
• Topics
• Conversations
• Knowledge
• Actions
• Evaluate (Test)
• Publish
• Evaluate (Analytics)
• Improve

One observation from working with Copilot Studio is that many discussions focus heavily on building and publishing agents, while the evaluation and continuous improvement phases often receive less attention.

The workflow emphasizes that agent development is an iterative process:

1. Define the business goal.
2. Design the conversation experience.
3. Connect knowledge and actions.
4. Validate through testing.
5. Publish to users.
6. Analyze real-world usage.
7. Continuously improve based on insights.
